JBL Summit Everest 3.5-Way Dual 15 Inch Reference Floorstanding Speaker (Pair)

JBL Summit Everest 3.5-Way Dual 15 Inch Reference Floorstanding Speaker (Pair)

The JBL Summit Everest is the flagship expression of the Summit Series, built upon the legacy of four generations and more than 40 years of Project Everest loudspeaker development for the most discerning music enthusiast. Summit Everest is the pinnacle of the Summit Series for the Dual 15-inch (380mm) woofer category.

Everest (eh-vuh-ruhst) The world’s highest mountain above sea level at 8,849m (29,032’). Named after Sir George Everest, the British surveyor and geographer responsible for surveying the meridian arc from the southernmost point of India north to Nepal from 1806 to 1841. In 1865 the Royal Geographical Society renamed Peak XV to Mount Everest in his honor.

Newly Designed Complement of Speaker Drivers
Summit Everest features a newly engineered mid/high-frequency system that combines the output of three patented JBL D2820 2-inch (50mm) dual-diaphragm, dual-motor compression drivers with a custom-designed, patent-pending 3-into-1 expansion manifold and seamlessly mated to a custom large-format Sonoglass® High-Definition Imaging (HDI™) horn. This mid/high-frequency architecture delivers exceptional detail, clarity, and dynamic precision across an expansive bandwidth, extending from the 850Hz crossover point of the dynamic drivers to beyond the limits of human hearing.

Anchoring the sound foundation of Summit Everest are a pair of 10-inch (250mm) cast-frame Differential Drive mid-bass drivers and a pair of 15-inch (380mm) cast-frame Differential Drive woofers. Each dynamic driver employs JBL’s triple-layer Hybrid Carbon Cellulose Composite Cone (HC4), constructed from a proprietary combination of carbon-fiber and pure-pulp front and rear skins sandwiching a closed-cell foam core. The result is a cone structure optimized for stiffness, overall mass, and structural integrity, enabling high output, low distortion, and exceptional power handling.

JBL MultiCap™ Crossover
Controlling signal distribution within Summit Everest is an advanced MultiCap™ crossover network that supports single-wire, bi-amp/bi-wire, and tri-amp/tri-wire connectivity.

By replacing traditional large capacitors with a greater number of smaller capacitors, this network reduces ESR (Electro-Static Resistance) and minimizes energy loss due to mechanical movement. The result is greater signal transfer to the drivers, increased power handling, enhanced dynamic expression, ultra-low distortion, and exceptional overall clarity.

Crafted from Luxurious Materials
All drivers and crossover components are housed within a meticulously engineered and beautifully finished enclosure featuring internally offset, multi-braced, and damped pre-stressed pressed curved-wall construction designed to minimize internal standing waves. Summit Everest cabinetry is offered in a choice of high-gloss painted black with Summit platinum accents or high-gloss ebony wood veneer with Summit gold accents.

Grounding Summit Everest to its surroundings is a set of custom-designed JBL | IsoAcoustics® isolation feet that counteract the vibrational forces generated by the drivers, effectively decoupling the loudspeaker from the supporting surface. This isolation contributes to tighter bass performance, a more expansive soundstage, and imaging defined by greater clarity and spatial precision.
